Searching for Grade 4-12 (AYA) Books by Topic

Use the Advanced Search option in the CONSORT catalog and narrow your search to WOO ERC.

In the first search bar use: graphic OR comic OR chapter OR juvenile
In the second search bar use: novel* OR book* OR literature OR fiction
In the third search bar, input synonyms for your topic, connected by OR
     Examples: manga OR comic* OR graphic
                       fantasy OR science fiction

The (asterisk) retrieves results for multiple endings on a common word root.
       Teen* retrieves teenteens, teenager and teenagers.

You can change search terms to retrieve different emphases. The above example retrieves graphic novels and comics, as well as juvenile literature. Remove any elements that do not reflect your desired search results.

These limits will give you the ERC books intended for children in grades 4-12.

Robert F. Sibert Informational Book Award - children's non-fiction
Stonewall Book Award - LGBT experience
Teens' Top Ten List (TTT) - Teen picked literature
YALSA Award for Excellence in Nonfiction - best YA non-fiction
