There are several events that are related to our main exhibit. Please join us at any or all of the following events:

Fighting the Fires of Hate Opening Reception: Thursday, September 22nd from 5-8pm in Andrews Library

5:00 – 8:00 – Exhibition Reception
6:00 – Welcome – Mark Christel, Director of Libraries and Julia Fishelson, Emerita Life Trustee of The College
6:05 – Introducing the “Embracing Our Differences” outdoor display – Frank Relle,
                            Executive Director of the Wayne County Community Foundation
6:10 – Introducing Dr. Leon Bass – Julia Gustafson, Research & Outreach Librarian
6:15 – Dr. Leon Bass’s 45 minute talk
7:00 -- QA with Dr. Leon Bass, moderated by Amyaz Moledina
7:30 – Wrap-up – Amyaz Moledina, Co-Director Center for Diversity and Global
                     Engagement; Associate Professor of Economics; Director of Social Entrepreneurship

Celebrate Diversity: 2011 Embracing Our Differences Ohio: Thursday, September 22, 12am – Tuesday, October 4, 12am on the Memorial Walkway between Kauke and the Andrews/Gault Library

  • This is an outdoor art exhibit celebrating the positive influence diversity brings to our lives. It was brought to campus by the Center for Diversity and Global Engagement. To see a visual representation, click on the Slide Show of the Exibit PDF.

Conversations in the Library- Remembering the Holocaust: Sunday November 6th from 2-5 in Andrews Library

  • Holocaust survivors, children of survivors, WWII veteran/liberator, and scholars will engage small group conversations with our community members. More information and an opportunity to sign up to engage in a conversation will be made available soon.
