HISTORY PRIMARY SOURCES 2020-2021: Database Collections

Finding Primary Sources in Databases

Wooster has access to hundreds of databases that contain countless potential primary sources for your work.  Some databases draw together a wide range of sources, but most are focused on a specific time period, location, or type of source.  As in the case of print collections, finding the best database and the best kinds of sources for your project depends heavily on your question and whose perspective you are trying to learn more about.

For a full list of all databases available at Wooster, as well as information about new resources or trials, visit the A-Z Databases page here:

Major Databases

The databases below draw together a range of sources and may be helpful to a wide variety of research questions:

Other Databases

The databases above represent only a small portion of our collections.  Most databases at Wooster are more specialized.  More details about these collections and how they can be useful to students embarking on their own research can be seen in this guide, made by Zdena Sinkhorn (History '22).
