Setting Up Your New York Times Online Access: Home

Welcome to the New York Times Online

The College of Wooster Libraries are pleased to be able to provide access for Wooster students, faculty, and staff to The New York Times Online.   In order to gain access, you will need to use your Wooster (@wooster.edu) email account.  You say you already have a subscription to NYTimes.com?  Follow the set of instructions specific to that situation and switch your account to this free access.  This account can be used on the web, your mobile device, or via the NYTimes app.  If you need help setting up your account you can watch the Access Walkthrough Video.

The education subscription offers more than just unlimited news access on NYTimes.com. Below is a brief list:

Don't Have a NYTimes.com Account?

NEW subscribers

Please follow these four steps to complete the testing process:
 
Step 1: Navigate to accessnyt.com
Step 2: Search for and select "The College of Wooster – Wooster, OH”
 
You will be redirected to the NYT registration page.
 
Step 3: Click "Create Account" and complete fields; you must use your @edu email
Step 4: Verify your account (you will receive a confirmation email) *
 
* The confirmation email may be routed to your spam folder. You must click the link in this email to complete the registration.

You Already Have a NYTimes.com Account?

EXISTING registered subscribers with ACTIVE PAID subscriptions

  1. If you have an active paid subscription, you will first need to cancel your personal subscription. You can do this by connecting with a chat agent on the site or calling 800-698-4637.
  2. After you cancel your paid account, you can follow the directions below to claim your complimentary subscription.

EXISTING registered subscribers that DO NOT HAVE ACTIVE NYT subscription

  1. Visit accessnyt.com to create an account.
  2. Click on "Already have an account "Log In" (Found below "Create An Account").
  3. Input your email address and the same password created for your previous account.
  4. If you encounter any error messages, please email edu@nytimes.com.
