Annual Reports, Secretary of Transportation (TD 1.1:)

The Department of Transportation was established in 1966 to consolidate the functions of multiple agencies regarding transportation. This new department was charged with coordinating policies and enforcing regulations for highway, rail, air, and marine transportation, and in later years it also took on the responsibilities for urban mass transit and transportation safety.
