The Bureau of Mines was established within the Department of the Interior in 1910. In 1925 the bureau was transferred to the Department of Commerce, but it returned to Interior in 1934 and remained there. The annual reports, beginning in 1911, were reprinted from the Annual Reports, Secretary of the Interior and only appeared briefly in the U. S. Congressional Serial Set. (Andriot 490)
