Established as an independent agency in 1933, the Farm Credit Administration replaced both the Federal Farm Board and the Federal Farm Loan Board, as well as consolidating other functions and offices dealing with agricultural credit. In 1939, the agency was transferred to the Department of Agriculture, where it moved around a bit before becoming an independent agency again in 1953. The annual reports, which reviewed operations for the fiscal year and offered statistical appendices, began in 1933.
