Since the inception of the United Nations in 1946, the Department of State has published (on behalf of the President) a report to Congress on the participation of the United States in the UN. This annual report was originally published as part of the International Organization and Conference Series III (United Nations) under the class stem S 1.70/3: but was transferred to the more comprehensive International Organization and Conference Series (S 1.70:) with the 1958 report. In 1974, the series was split out into its own classification number (S 1.70/8:). (Andriot 677)
