U.S. Congressional Serial Set Finding List: Annual Reports, U. S. Geological Survey (I 19.1:)

In 1879, the Geological Survey was created to continue and expand the work of the discontinued Geological and Geographical Surveys earlier established under both the Interior and the War Departments. The annual report of the Geological Survey began publication in 1880 and for many years was included with the Annual Reports, Secretary of the Interior (I 1.1:). From 1894 to 1899, Mineral Resources of the United States (I 19.8:) was issued as a part of the Geological Survey annual report before being published under its own classification number. Other USGS publications were included in the annual report, but in 1902 these accompanying papers began to appear under different series titles such as the Bulletins (I 19.3:), the Water-Supply Papers (I 19.13:), and the Professional Papers (I 19.16:).
