The War Finance Corporation was established as an independent agency in 1918 with the charge of providing support to war industries and banks as well as assisting in the transition to peacetime industry. The agency was abolished in 1939 as part of Reorganization Plan No. 2. The annual reports began publication in 1918. (Andriot 862, NARA Record Group 154)
