The Railroad Retirement Act of 1935 provided for the establishment of the Railroad Retirement Board, an independent agency that administers benefit programs (unemployment, disability, retirement, etc.) for railroad workers and their families. Although the annual reports began publication in 1936, the first annual report appeared in the U. S. Congressional Serial Set in 1945. (Andriot 676)
