U.S. Congressional Serial Set Finding List: Annual Reports, Bureau of the Mint (T 28.1:)

Although the U. S. Mint was established in 1792, it was not brought under the auspices of the Department of the Treasury until 1873, when it was renamed the Bureau of the Mint. The annual reports from 1819 to 1856 covered the calendar year and were made by the director of the Mint directly to the President. From 1857 to 1910, the report covered the fiscal year and was sent to the Secretary of the Treasury. For these years, the Mint's annual report was then included in the Annual Report of the Department of the Treasury (T 1.1:). (Andriot 713, Checklist 1143)
