The Federal Housing Administration was first established as an independent agency by the National Housing Act of 1934. In 1939 it became part of the Federal Loan Agency for a few years before transferring to the National Housing Agency in 1942. In 1947 the Administration was transferred once more, this time to the Housing and Home Finance Agency (renamed in 1965 as the Department of Housing and Urban Development). The annual reports began publication in 1934 and included statistics and occasional lists of publications.
